for the mama's

180
so, mothers day is this coming sunday.  i'll be MIA for a while since that's another huge "flower" holiday.  not nearly as bad as valentine's day, though.  it's generally a calmer holiday as most mom's are just happy that their offspring remembered them.  we even have lilac this year!
::::
now, for some shameless self promotion....
::::
if you haven't gotten your mom a little something yet, we'll be more than happy to deliver her some flowers or a plant!  you can go here and shop my parents little florist online, or you can call us if you like. (919-489-3361)  i'll be answering the phones, so you'll probably get to talk to me!  (yay!)
::::
i hope that all of you have a lovely mothers day.  and if you aren't a mother...enjoy the day anyway!  xoxo

packing up and cleaning out

Springbazaar
going on right now.....spring sale in my shop!
::
i'll be moving soon.  i think.   well, right now, that's all completely up in the air.  but nevertheless, i've been cleaning out and editing all of my collections in the hopes of being able to "travel light."  most of the items for sale in my shop are vintage things that i just don't have room for anymore.  i hope you'll go take a look and maybe find a treasure or two.
xo.

new things

spring is here!....finally.  these are ranunculas from my last trip to the farmers market.  i've been cleaning and scrubbing and vacumming myself silly.  i seem to be just now coming up for air.  there are so many new things that i missed and wanted to share with you....
first, there are several new mama's to be!  vanessa is expecting a new little one very soon.  and so is donna! i'm so happy for you both.  what lovely mama's you will surely be!

also, kate has started a new website for her amazing photography!  go see it, you'll be glad you did!

shop closing

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
i'm going to be closing my shop soon.  i just don't have the space or the resources to keep my shop stocked as well as i'd like.  plus, i'm going to be moving in a few months and there will be even less room for all my "stuff".  so, that said, i'm going to clear out the shop.  i'm also going to be clearing out my little vintage and handmade things that i don't need or no longer have room for.  more on that in the next few days.
and by the way, i only have six five sets (of 10) of the bunny postcards left and that will be all i'm going to make.  after that, they're gone forever :)
happy weekend, all! xo

today's conversation

husband : can you order me something?

me : sure.

husband: nevermind.  i wanted the 9th season of baywatch, but it's not out on dvd yet.

me : why???

husband : i was in an episode, i never told you that?

me : umm, no.

husband : yeah, when i was on the golden knights (army parachute team) we were in an episode, i didn't have any lines, but my buddy did.

me : how did i not know this about you?

::::::::::::::

these are the conversations we have.  amusing, no?

love

i just came across this photo here.  it was taken by sam javanrouh.  you can see his amazing photoblog here.  if this photo doesn't put things into perspective for you, i don't know what will.

lucky girl

look what i got!!!  amisha sent me this amazing scarf.....just sort of out of the blue.  it was such a lovely surprise!

she also sent along some of her fabulous handmade soap as well as a very comforting note.  thank you dear, sweet, thoughful, amisha!

i am still truly amazed and sometimes baffled by the complete and total kindness of others.  while i'm totally in love with the scarf, to me, the best part was the note that came with the gift.  amisha truly has a way with words.  it's amazing how just a few sentences put on paper can make a person feel.  i am so blessed to be a part of this creative community (family).

catching up

so, i'm home finally.  i was supposed to be home on the 17th, but moved my flight to the 19th so i could fly out with my husband.  he is safely back to his post overseas.  less than four more months to go and he will be home for good from this deployment.  i seem to be slowly, but surely settling back into a routine.  it feels odd...but normal, i guess.  i'm really behind on my e-mailing and phone calls....as well as my blog reading.  i feel like i've missed so much!  hopefully i can get caught up on everything after easter.  i've gotten several requests for photos, so here is sort of a random selection.

my niece reagan.  first time i was able to meet her!  she's 4 months now and such a love!!

reagan with her uncle vern.  he was so smitten with her :)

she's such a happy baby.

a little party for big brother logan who's turning two.

getting ready to go out for pancakes!

and believe it or not it snowed 6 inches.  two days later it was 70 degrees and sunny.

so, that's that.  and before i forget i want to say a big (huge) thank you to kate who posted over on fresh pears all the time i was gone.  i'm looking forward to catching up with all of you.  it's good to be home!
